Wine Wednesday on 30a
Story by Sarah Robertson
Every Wednesday we will choose a wine to highlight. These recommendations were guided by 30afoodandwine friend, sommelier, and author of The Wine Club, Maureen Petrosky. All are affordable and accessible and most importantly, delicious. We will start this new year in celebratory style with some choice sparkling wines.
Our pick this week is the scrumptious domestic bubbly Schramsberg Blanc de Noir. The term “Blanc de Noirs” simply means it is made from the juice of black-skinned grapes. By pressing the grapes very lightly, the juice remains nearly colorless. This Schramsberg is a lovely ballet slipper golden pink color crisp with hints of tangy citrus and raspberry. Try pairing it with a nutty cheese or herb encrusted pork loin. You can find it at Chan’s Wine World here on 30A.
