Wine Spectator Top 100 Dinner
Story by Phil Heppding
On January 24th, Bijoux Restaurant at the Market Shops in Sandestin will be hosting the Wine Spectator Top 100 Dinner. The proceeds from this event benefit the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation and children’s charities throughout Northwest Florida. This event kicks off a busy year for the Destin Charity Wine Auction and is sure to be an exciting evening with remarkable wines and unique culinary pairings from Bijoux Executive Chef Jack McGuckin.
The 30afoodandwine.com team caught up with John Russell, President of the Destin Charity Wine Auction to get his thoughts on the event. “Last April, the wine community of Northwest Florida came together to create a very special dinner to raise money for the children’s charities of Northwest Florida. Sold as a live auction lot at our 10th annual auction, patrons raised their paddles for $1,000 donations towards a philanthropic evening hosted by our dear friends at Bijoux. This incomparable wine dinner will offer a chance to taste 5 of the top rated wines on the Wine Spectator Top 100 list of 2014, including the #1 rated wine.”
Chef Jack McGuckin is equally enthused about the culinary event as well and shared some insight into the pairings that guests can expect:
