Publisher’s letter: Enjoy your summer adventures!

July 17, 2023

Greetings fellow foodies,

I hope this issue of the Food & Wine Guide for South Walton finds you and your family enjoying the sun and sand of our beautiful slice of paradise. With the spring festival season behinds us, we hope you are out exploring all the culinary offerings that our area has to offer.

Pick up your free copy of our Food & Wine Guide for South Walton at various locations around the area, including newsstands and the library.

With the growing popularity of private chefs in our area, check out page 32 for the latest with Chef Dan Vargo and Fine Coastal Cuisine.

On the east end of 30A and South Walton, 30Avenue is quickly becoming the gathering spot for locals and tourists alike. Be sure and visit all their eateries (story on page 18) as they continue to grow.

And finally, the first half of this year saw our community lose three icons of the restaurant community here in South Walton (story on page 38). Harriet Crommelin, Dominic Damiano and Brannon Janca all left a lasting mark on not just the culinary industry, but our community as a whole. Their influence will no doubt remain decades into the future.

Enjoy your summer adventures and be sure to use our restaurant guide (pages 74-82) as your road map to all the culinary delights South Walton has to offer.

Bon appétit!
