Star Gazing on Easter Weekend
Star Gazing
Story by Sarah Murphy Robertson
Awards season may be over, but the classic combination of dinner and a movie can be realized this weekend along 30A in a number of great ways. Of course we are thrilled to be covering the Food Film Fest in two weeks which will highlight these two concepts in one incredible weekend format. But until then, check out these movie and munching options up and down 30A.
Movies in the Park are an amazing local amenity all spring and summer long on Thursdays in Marina Park in WaterColor. Movies start just after sunset and are free to the public. Be sure to pick up some yummy food – maybe sandwiches from Barefoot BBQ in Seaside or even a pizza from Watercolor’s Pizza by the Sea location. This Thursday March 24th’s movie is Hop – the perfect Easter week pick!
Saturday March 26th the Pearl’s Rooftop Lounge in Rosemary Beach will host their weekly Cocktails & Classics starting at 7 pm. Admission is free (as is popcorn!) and walk-ins are welcome. The bar is open until 10 pm and food is also available for purchase. For more information, call 850.588.2882.
Sunday is Family Funday at Baytowne Wharf with their Sunday Cinema from 8:00pm – 10:00pm. This week enjoy Cinderella on the big-screen outdoors with your little princes and princesses! Bring your own low-back chairs and pick up dinner from The Baytowne Melt, Acme Oyster House, or any of their other many great restaurants. This event is free and open to the public.
These weekend options as well as weekly outdoor film series offered in Seaside, Alys Beach, and Rosemary Beach are great ways to spend time as a family, feast on some tasty local fare, and make long-lasting memories. We hope you’ll act on our advice – it’s picture perfect!
