What to do on 30a – Hurricane Party and Big Green Eggs
When the tourists go home, the locals come out to play. This weekend is full of events to get out and about and support great causes. Also, stay tuned as to 30a Food and Wine for a big announcement next week!
Friday September 23rd –
The 12th Annual Hurricane Party at Bud and Alley’s takes place Friday night September 23. If you don’t already have tickets, you can purchase at the door for $125. Proceeds benefit the Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN). The doors swing wide open starting at 6:30pm and feature heavy creole hors d’oeuvres and also a cash bar. 4 Barrel Funk from Mobile, Alabama will provide the live music with a Motown show. Be sure to bring your giving spirit as both a silent and live auction take place where guests can bid on luxury trips and private chef dinners all in the name of charity. We hope to see you there for what is always a splendid party for a wonderful cause.

Prepare to feast at one the fastest growing foodie events and parties on the Emerald Coast. Join celebrity judges Tim Creehan and Lucy Buffett as Eggs on the Beach kicks off at 10AM on the grounds of the Seascape Resort on Miramar Beach. Advance tickets at www.eggsonthebeach.com are $25 per adult, $13 for children aged 11-17 and kids 10 and under are free. More than 30 cook teams will compete by preparing their best dish on the Big Green Eggs right before your eyes. Be sure and vote for your fan favorite and don’t forget, proceeds from the event benefit the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast and Food For Thought Outreach. And another tip, if you have ever considered purchasing a Big Green Egg, I can honestly say that this is the best way to see all the different dishes that can be prepared on the BGE. And guess what???? the demo eggs used in the cook off are for sale at a discounted price at the end of the competition.
