Did you know three “F”s can equal an A+ weekend? Our picks for 3 for 30A represent Food, Family and Football and are sure to round out your days off perfectly.
While the kids are in school, make Fridays your ongoing lunch “date” day. Modica Market in Seaside runs lunch specials on weekdays from the end of August to the beginning of March. Thursdays are always grilled cheese and homemade tomato soup, perfect for chilly winter days. But Fridays are the day the locals really crow about. They make their world famous fried grouper po boy on Fridays and it shouldn’t be missed. It will give TGIF a whole new meaning, guaranteed!
Saturday is all about time with the kids and this weekend is a very special event at E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center. E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center is an educational center nestled in the Longleaf Pine ecosystem and is right in our backyard in Freeport! This Saturday, January 23rd they will present an exclusive event for members only: a bobcat exhibition! Year round members receive discounts and invites and special perks so it is the perfect weekend to join. This weekend will include meeting the bobcats as well as checking out their birds of prey exhibit, going on guided hikes and so much more! To become a Bio-Member visit www.eowilsoncenter.org.
If you are a part of the millions of people worldwide who will be watching the “big game” on Feb 7th, you may just be interested in the conference championship games this Sunday. These two games will determine the teams playing for the Lombardi trophy and should be great matchups. They start at 2:05 pm Central Standard Time with the New England Patriots battling the Denver Broncos.
On 30A we have several sports bars with prime seats for viewing games. Visit Shades in Rosemary Beach for an impressive draft list and wide family-friendly menu. 723 Whiskey Bravo in Seagrove is another fun spot for football fans. On the west end, there is always revelry at the Local Catch as well as Sunday Funday live music.
Enjoy yourselves this weekend with Food, Family and Football as the line up. I think following that formula will ensure a passing grade!
