3 for 30a – South Walton Fashion Week
By Natalie Haddock
South Walton is a flurry of activities all year long it seems and this weekend is no different. From fashion to flashbacks and from festivals to football, 30Afoodandwine.com has got you covered.

Thursday, Friday, & Saturday – The communities of 30A not only offer beachy fun and fabulous food, but a coastal lifestyle reflected in design, attitude, and even fashion. One of the biggest events going on this weekend is South Walton Fashion Week, taking place primarily in Grand Boulevard, in Santa Rosa Beach. The event kicks off Wednesdays night in Alys beach with the official SWFW Launch Party. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the fun continues with various trunk shows, pop-up shops, lounge goodies, food and drink, and of course, runway shows. Models will strut the runway to showcase local and visiting designer fashions including bathing suits, breezy dresses, baubles and more. Stay late for the after party held at the Grand Boulevard Wine Bar.
Friday, Oct 9th – SWFW may be introducing modern wearables to today’s audience, but Local Catch Bar and Grill is still embracing the fashions of old…and perhaps embarrassing. This Friday is Tacky Prom Night at Local Catch starting at 8:45 so breakout that polyester and get ready to boogie down to the sounds of the 70’s brought to you by the Forest Williams Band. Bring a date for prom pictures with a professional photographer and be sure to try the spiked punch!
Saturday, Oct 10th – If proms and primping aren’t really you’re thing, than we will see you this Saturday at Idyll HoundsFest from 2:00pm – 5:00pm. Local brewery Idyll Hounds is celebrating their one year anniversary this weekend with the opening of a new taproom and Octoberfest flare! The taproom will be pouring a handful of limited/one time only releases from Idyll Hounds and also featuring a guest tap list. “Kick Ass Food” will be provided by Tucker Dukes and live music by Zack Rosicka. $25 admission gets you a 16oz Idyll Hounds souvenir glass, a 1st Annual Hound Fest T-shirt, an Idyll sticker, and 1 free pour of select beer.
Sunday, Oct 11th – All this strutting and sipping will have you working up quite an appetite by Sunday and Elmo’s Bar and Grill is sure to satisfy. Their motto, “not Fancy, just Famous” speaks volumes about their family friendly atmosphere and popular seafood menu. Every night enjoy succulent all-you-can eat crab legs, live music, and a casual setting. Share with the kids a mound of seafood nachos or the savory BBQ Gator Ribs. Elmo’s has also added new TVs around the restaurant and on the porch for enjoying the evening’s NFL games! Open Monday – Sunday from 4:00pm to 10:00pm.
