3 for 30a- National Relaxation Day!
By Natalie Haddock
This weekend we celebrate National Relaxation Day! Everyday life can be stressful with work, family, home, school; but no matter how busy or wired things may get, set aside some time for yourself this weekend to kick back and relax. This week’s installment is to help you celebrate this much needed “holiday” and offers a few suggestions on where to unwind over the weekend.
Friday, August 14 – Start your day, and your weekend, on the right foot when you enjoy a hot breakfast and a fresh cup of coffee from Café Bolo. This quaint coffee shop in Santa Rosa Beach serves up the best in gourmet sandwiches, soups, pastries, cakes, coffees, and tea. Their coffees and expressos are fresh brewed from locally owned and fair trade Amavida beans and everything else is made from scratch daily using the finest ingredients. Chill in the AC as you nibble a fresh baked muffin and read the local news, or sit back on their shady patio with an iced coffee or flavored latte as you watch the world buzz by. Café Bolo is open Monday-Saturday 7am to 5pm. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/cafebolo
Saturday, August 15 – Retail therapy can be a wonderful stress reliever, as are cocktails and live music. 30Avenue in Inlet Beach is one of the newest communities of retail, restaurants, and services on the 30A scene and also hosts a beautiful landscape to shop and stroll along. Admire the stunning artwork presented at V. LALA Galleries or stop into 30A Olive Oil Co for a fresh take on natural ingredients. Cuvee 30A is the hot spot for savoring a glass of wine and the margaritas at Barbacoa will definitely help you worry a little less on stress. Shan Kishi also boasts a relaxing view of the waterfall fountain at 30Avenue. This weekend enjoy live music by Chris Alvarado on The Green from 5:30 to 8:00. For more information about all the offerings from 30Avenue, please visit http://www.thirtyavenue.com
Sunday, August 16 – What would be the most relaxing way to spend a Sunday evening on 30A? Well, watching the sun set over the Gulf is a pretty safe bet and the aptly named Vue on 30A is just the place. It was voted “Best Waterfront Dining” by Florida Travel + Life Magazine and most recently the “Best Place to Watch a Sunset” by the readers of Destin Magazine, and we at 30Afoodandwine.com couldn’t agree more! Watch dolphins frolicking in the surf as you savor unique flavors such as Pistachio Crusted Grouper with risotto and seasonal vegetables. The Grilled Watermelon Salad is a refreshing start, or share the Lobster Trilogy among friends. Happy hour is available from 3-6 and 2-for-1 Entrée specials run each day 5-6pm.
