Over the last year or so 30AFoodandWine.com has touted on nearly 100 restaurants and events that take place along 30A. We have discussed holidays, beach days, date night out, family night in, game days, rain days, festivals, theme nights, and everything in between. But what about birthdays? Well if you’re looking for a fun place to celebrate your special day, 30AFoodandWine.com has a few personal suggestions on where to don your party hat.
Friday, September 18– One of the best ways to spend a birthday is with good friends, good food, and great wine so this Friday stop into The Wine Bar in Watercolor for just that. Locals in Destin, Sandestin, and along 30A love The Wine Bar for its flavorful menu and wine parings. Stop in for a light lunch of Seared Ahi Tuna or a Caprese Salad. Salads and small plates are still offered around dinner, but if you can help it don’t pass up their Parmesan Crusted Grouper Picatta with fresh local grouper over angel hair pasta with capers, spinach, and a white wine lemon butter sauce. Of course, if you are there to socialize with friends and family on your special day, you can’t go wrong with one of their assorted cheese plates. Sample gourmet cheeses from around the world with accompaniments like nuts, meats, bread, and infused oils.
Saturday, September 19 – No birthday is complete without a little sweet so this Saturday wake up for the Seaside Farmer’s Market and check out Sweet Henrietta’s treats. Choose from fresh baked cookies and cupcakes to delicious four layer cakes, cake pops, muffins, and brownies! Everything is homemade and ingredients are acquired from local farmers. Henrietta even uses fresh picked lemons from her own yard for her sweet and tart lemon cakes. So if you’re not looking forward to turning 29 (again) pick up a made from scratch birthday cake or cupcake from Sweet Henrietta’s! You can call to cater your perfect treat or pick from their menu items and place an order online. For more information checkout www.sweethenriettas.com
