3 for 30a- Beer, Wine and Family Time!!!
Story By Natalie Haddock
This weekend 30A is getting into the spirit of the fall season and that doesn’t just mean the ghouls and ghosts of Halloween. Save your “boo’s” for the holiday and come out for booze instead. Events are lined up for both the beer lover and the wine connoisseur that are sure to thrill; but drinks aren’t the only treats out there, you know. There’s plenty of good food and fun for the whole family too. So, if you’ve got a hankering for flavors instead of fright this weekend, put down the ghostly decorations and check out these events around 30A.
Friday, October 16 – Baytowne Wharf Beer Fest kicks off this weekend with Beer Bingo on Friday night. Come out to win prizes, listen to live music, and sample American specialty beers from around the nation. Visit each merchant around the village from 5:00pm to 9:00pm to fill out your Bingo card and enter for your chance to win. Live music will be provided by The Rips from 7:00-9:00pm. The Baytowne Wharf Beer Fest, now in its 8th year, will feature more than 40 breweries and offer nearly 200 different brews and craft beers for sampling. For more information on the event and where to get your commemorative festival glass for Saturday’s Grand Tasting visit www.baytownewharfbeerfestival.com.
Saturday, October 17 – Reds, whites, rosés and even a blend or two are all coming together with the restaurants of Rosemary Beach this Saturday for the fifth annual Rosemary Beach Uncorked. This culinary and wine pairing event is the most fabulous way to sample and savor your favorite flavors of 30A. Each restaurant will prepare signature dishes and pair them with a “featured wine” sampling. Rosemary restaurants involved in the event include Cowgirl Kitchen, Edward’s, Havanah Beach, La Crema, Summer Kitchen Café (squared), Restaurant Paradis, Amavida Coffee and Tea, and KC’s Feed and Supply. Check out their menu page for all the delicious details at http://rosemarybeachuncorked.com/menus/
Sunday, October 18 – Bring a blanket or the lawn chairs and kick back this Sunday at the Great American Picnic in Watersound Origins from 3:00-7:00pm. This free outdoor event is the perfect opportunity to spend a day outside with the family, enjoying live music, fall breezes, food, even lawn games. Food trucks on site will include Sweet Henrietta’s, The Hub, Long Leaf Mobile, and Ticheli’s Italian Pizza. A portion of the food truck proceeds will benefit CVHN so be sure to come hungry! Or, work up an appetite in the corn hole tournament. A $50 team entrance fee benefits Food for Thought and you could win top prizes like a stuffed Yeti Cooler, dinner for two at Fish Out of Water, or two Rounds at Camp Creek Golf Course.
