As we finish up the freezing month of February, there are still several events happening along 30A that are sure to please both your taste buds and your spirit. Pick up a few warm fuzzies in this week’s “Feel Good February” installment of 3 for 30A.
Friday, February 27 – Run on down to Seaside this weekend for their inaugural Taste of the Race event, a preliminary celebration for the Seaside Half Marathon and 5k. Meet celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse and enjoy fresh cuisine by some favorite local restaurants such as The Bay, Great Southern Cafe, Stinky’s Fish Camp, Bud and Alley’s, Acme Oyster House, Fish Out of Water and more. Craft beer is provided by Grayton Beer Company, wine is made available by Wine World, and spirits are courtesy of Buffalo Trace. Tickets are $99 and proceeds help benefit the Seaside School Foundation. Saturday, February 28 – The second annual Party with a Purpose will take place at 723 Whiskey Bravo to raise funds for Angel Flight Soars, a nonprofit group that provides flight transportation to those that need lifesaving medical treatment. The dress code is ‘white-chic’ and guests are invited to experience various entertainment such as whiskey tastings, cigar rolling, luxurious auction lots, and live music by Chris Alvarado. Delicious cuisine will be available including additional catering from Sushi by Jeff. Sunday, March 1 – Support local businesses and farmers this Sunday when you visit the Watercolor Farmer’s market in Cerulean Park beginning at 9:00. The open air market features a variety of local vendors with items available such as farm fresh eggs and produce, baked goods, organic items, gourmet rubs and sauces, and even crafts such as soaps, jewelry, and art. Special guest vendor this week is Burton’s Maplewood Farm with 100% pure maple syrup, infused by used rum, bourbon, and brandy barrels. Creative Crepes will also be joining the Farmer’s Market with deliciously intriguing interpretations of the classic crepe. (Nutella, anyone?)
