Story by Phil Heppding
FRIDAY July 15th
The weekend kicks off bright and early on Friday morning at the Boathouse in Watercolor. The seventh race in the RUN/SUP Summer series gets started at 8AM with a 1 mile paddle around Western Lake in Watercolor. Fastest time wins and gets you added to the leaderboard for a shot at the series grand prize! The best part about all of this? All equipment is provided and it is a great way to experience 30a for vacationers and locals alike. See you at 8AM at the Boathouse!
Check out some action from the Summer Series.
Looking for a great happy hour spot on Friday? Join us at the Growler Garage at Gulf Place on 30a. With over 40 craft beers on tap as well as wine and cocktails, you are bound to start the weekend off right. Check out owners Mitch and Denise Omar on their recent appearance on Emeril’s Florida.
Saturday July 16th
On Saturday, why not take a day trip to Pensacola Beach as the world famous Blue Angels. The Blues take to the skies at noon on Saturday but if you are going, you need to get there early…and we do mean early. The main lots on the beach fill up quickly for the show so it is recommended to get there at 7AM. Enjoy the beach for a few hours and then witness the aerial acrobatics of the Navy’s top pilots as they take to the skies. Hope aboard with the Blue Angels for a 360 degree view from inside the cockpit.
Sunday July 17th
After a very busy Friday and Saturday, why not relax with brunch (8AM-3PM Daily) at the Havana Beach Bar and Grill at the Pearl Hotel in Rosemary Beach on Sunday? Try the shrimp & grits, chicken & waffles or our favorite, the Southern Benedict- Poached Eggs, Buttermilk Biscuit, Canadian Bacon, Hollandaise, and Home Fries. Check out the full menu and make a day of it in Rosemary Beach by visiting the Merchants of Rosemary Beach throughout town.
