3 for 30a Father’s Day Edition
Story by Phil Heppding
We are in high gear for the tourist season here in South Walton. Folks from all over the southeast and midwest have descended on our little piece of paradise we call home. Occasionally you just want to sneak away, relax and enjoy the sand and surf.
Start Friday off by swinging by Trebeache in Blue Mountain Beach and picking up one of their 30A Beach Boxes. Grab lunch to go starting at 11AM and choose from Thai Beef Salad, Italian Focaccia Sandwich, Vegetarian Wrap and even the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail.
After a few hours at the beach, swing back by for happy hour from 3-6PM and enjoy $5 wine, craft beer, and martinis while feasting on 75 cent oysters.

Treat dad to an early Father’s Day on Saturday with a great evening of live music and great food at the Old Florida Fish House in Seagrove Beach. The Forrest Williams Band takes the stage beginning at 7:30. Come hungry because Old Florida Fish House will not disappoint. Our favorite Father’s Day choice would be the New York Strip with the baked potato. Not in the mood for steak? The deep fried soft shell crab or citrus grilled shrimp is sure to please.

And finally….treat dad to a Father’s Day lunch aboard the SunQuest Cruises’ Solaris starting at 12:30. Check in is at 11:45 and dad can have his choice of Guinness Braised Bay Back Ribs, Fresh Gulf Swordfish Steak & Jumbo Lump Crab, Gulf Shrimp & Grits or Rosemary Baked Breast of Chicken. Call as soon as possible for reservations so you won’t miss out. On a side note, the Solaris is one of our top recommendations for guests visiting the area for the first time. The crew and staff are great and the food is always top-notch. Our friends at 30a.com highlight what Sunquest is all about here:
