3 for 30a- Spread the Love 30a Style
Spread Local Love on 30A
Story by Sarah Murphy Robertson
We are gearing up for our high season as Spring Breakers from the Southeast flock to 30A for a chance to spend their coveted vacation time in paradise. This weekend there are plenty of opportunities to live like a local off the sugary sand. Experience some great local events and get to know the folks who make up the fabric of our fine area.
On Friday April 1st, one of 30A’s most popular seafood restaurants is celebrating their 9th anniversary with a day-long party. Starting at 11 am and lasting late, Stinky’s will offer drink specials, amazing food and live music from the Forrest Williams Band. The afternoons will start with a crawfish boil and then they’ll smoke a whole pig in the evening. Head to the West end of 30A and get your groove on!
Easter weekend was a rain-soaked affair, so the Block Party and Eggstravaganza at Gulf Place was moved to this Saturday April 2nd. This dog and family friendly event includes games and activities for all, as well as door prizes, food and mimosas. It is a fund raiser for the nonprofit Dog Harmony rescue. Between 11 am and 2:00 pm the public is invited to stop by this free event and enjoy the love of “man’s best friend” and a great local cause.
Speaking of celebrating, Havana Beach Club’ Rooftop Lounge atop The Pearl Hotel is reopening this weekend after some fabulous renovating this winter. On Sunday April 3rd all day (well between 11 am and 9 am) is Happy Hour and the place will be alive with music from Clayton Lancaster and Cadillac Willy. Between 3 and 9 pm they’ll even offer guests samples from their new menu! Come check out one of the most unique and gorgeous outdoor spaces along 30A for yourself!
